Rigid Frame Strander Operator

Starkville, MS. Pay is $20.64/hr. plus $1 night shift premium. 7PM – 7AM.

  • Interpret PO’s and pre-plan jobs/shift priorities
  • Meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements
  • Identify preferred take up reels
  • Minimum 1 year in manufacturing setting
Essential Job Functions: The Rigid Frame Strander Operator is responsible for operating either a 30-wire or 61-wire Rigid Frame Strander, ensuring stranded cable's safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Safely and efficiently operate the Rigid Frame Strander, including reading and interpreting Bills of Materials from production orders. Load the strander with up to 61 bobbins, ensuring proper setup and operation. Select, identify, and install dies to meet production specifications. Maintain line speed and gear ratio charts, ensuring all gearboxes are set correctly.

Working Conditions
Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods.  Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.  Must be able to use proper techniques to lift up to 50 pounds. You must be able to work in extreme hot and cold environments normally found in a prefabricated building without climate-control and exposure to dust, fumes, gases and chemicals. The hopper vacuums, motors, air-wipes and other machinery can be quite noisy.

Education
High School Diploma or GED
