Job Title: Behavioral Health Therapist Location: In-Person Salary and Position Type: $42,500 (Part-Time/24 hours/week) Reports To: Chief Executive Officer Job Summary: The Behavioral Health Therapist provides individual and group therapy, trauma-informed counseling, behavioral health support, and supports interdisciplinary care coordination to clients across all Afya Care and Treatment Services programs. Key Responsibilities: Direct Clinical Services: • Provide individual therapy to clients presenting with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, adjustment difficulties, and other behavioral health concerns. • Facilitate group therapy sessions, including psychoeducational, support, and process groups. • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to inform treatment planning and service coordination. • Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary team members. • Provide crisis intervention and safety planning as needed, coordinating with care team. Program Collaboration and Compliance: • Participate in multidisciplinary case staffing and care team meetings. • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with grant requirements, ethical standards, and confidentiality laws. • Assist with outcome tracking related to emotional stabilization, engagement in services, and client progress. • Assist clients in navigating referrals to specialty mental health, substance use, and community based services. • Support client engagement and retention across programs through therapeutic relationship building and continuity of care. Professional Standards and Development: • Adhere to ethical guidelines established by the state licensing board and applicable state laws. • Maintain current licensure and complete required continuing education. • Participate in required grant-related trainings and agency meetings as assigned. Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution. • Active, unrestricted licensure in the State of Mississippi. • Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing direct clinical services. • Demonstrated experience working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, or interpersonal trauma. Preferred Licensure/Certifications: • LCSW or LPC licensure with active ability to bill Medicaid, Medicare, and/or commercial insurance. Working Conditions: • Office-based service delivery with limited community-based engagement. • Exposure to emotionally challenging situations involving clients.
