Behavioral Health Therapist
Location: Columbus, MS or Remote/Telehealth (Alabama, Mississippi, or North Carolina)
Employment Type: Full-Time/Part-Time; Independent Contractor (1099)
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Masters Level Behavioral Health Therapist to join our private practice as an independent contractor. The ideal candidate will provide individual, group, and/or family therapy to clients across a diverse range of mental health and behavioral challenges. This role offers the flexibility of setting your schedule while allowing you to work in a supportive and collaborative environment.
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to identify client needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to client goals.
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to clients, including but not limited to CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care.
- Facilitate individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and other professionals as necessary.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention and develop safety plans when required.
- Stay up to date with the latest research and best practices in behavioral health.
- Participate in regular supervision and continuing education to maintain licensure.
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited program.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure in Mississippi, Alabama, and/or North Carolina such as LMSW, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
- Proven experience working in a clinical or therapeutic setting (minimum 1-2 years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses, treatment modalities, and DSM-5 criteria.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with diverse client populations and presenting issues.
- Certification or specialized training in trauma, substance use, or other areas of expertise.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
